Today my good friend Ken Groves is my guest and we have a very interesting discussion about backup plans. With the changing entertainment market, there are a bunch of entertainers who are having trouble finding work. Ken tells us about his backup plan and makes us think about having one of our own.
If you are a pro, this is a must listen episode. If you are a hobbyist, it is a very insight look into the world of professional entertainers.

Today, Mark Wade is my guest. Heeeee’s Baaaackkkk! We will be talking about how he got into ventriloquism, from the spark to the learning process to a look at his professional career. A fun episode that will give you plenty of insights and maybe even some ideas.
In this episode, Mark mentioned the book: Lacy Technique For Salesmanship. (Several copies are still available. I picked one up and absolutely loved it.)

When you see a ventriloquist on-stage with a character that seems so real you can’t believe it – is it magic? Or hard work? You know the truth – magical moments are few and far between. Even then, hard work is required to make the character play well for the audience. You need killer scripts, added bits of business and a real connection with the character.
But characters don’t always work out. No matter how well you define them. So what happens then? Well, today we discuss that subject. I think you’ll enjoy this Maher IVS Ventriloquist Radio episode with my good friends – Mark Wade and Ken Groves.
