Hello all! I wasn’t sure where to share this. I used to use Facebook and belonged to Lee Cornel’s vent101 group and would post in there, but I have since gotten rid of Facebook and wanted to share what I do while living in Japan. Recently I taught a Halloween lesson for a group of kindergarten and elementary school children. I use my Jojo mostly to help me read story’s and interact with the kids. I have yet to make an act and really practice pre made scripts from the Maher course. I am hoping to go to the Japanese group here and see them and maybe try to do something there. I think that a couples of them performed this year at the VentHaven convention. Here are some photos of me and Jojo. I would love to hear about other people’s experience while they were learning. Also a side note. I am still a baby at this having only been doing ventriloquism for about three months now, but Lee’s course helped a lot and Tom’s CD was a god send. It really made practicing much more fun.

*I just found out that I can’t post pictures here from my iPad so here is a link to my Instagram account which has the pictures.

Welcome to the Forum Bobby. Definitely come back and keep us updated on your Vent journey in Japan. Do you vent in Japanese or in English or both? I did try to go to your Instagram page but it would not come up. Also if you liked Tom’s CD you should try his course at Learn-Ventriloquism.com.

Thanks Eddie! I actually studied under Lee Cornell and his ventriloquism academy and am just finishing up the Maher course. I will look into Tom’s course for sure. I do the readings in English mostly, but sometimes Jojo will speak a little Japanese. His character doesn’t speak Japanese and uses a few words and has the kids help him learn Japanese and shares the word in English. I have an idea for a little boy who is bad at learning English and speaks only in Japanese. I don’t know if you have seen the Knot head puppets that Lee and Dennis Acosta have in production, but the Timmy puppet I think would fit the character perfectly. It’s nice too since I have been teaching in Japan for 7 years now so I know exactly how those kids act hahaha. [Permission to view this image is denied]
