…until my one and only gig of the year, Open Mic at Ventarama.
I’ve practiced and practiced and tonight I do a dry run in front of the nieces kids 😀
Well the open mic arrived and my 7.5 minute routine was well rehearsed, kind of, then about a minute before stage time I learned that we had 5 minutes. The best gag is at about 6.5 minutes so i had a problem.
Trying to cut and shut the routine as i went along was probably the reason i made a mistake or two but i coped well and overall it was my best open mic to date with fantastic reveiws from the panal and from some people I spoke to afterewards.
If you haven’t seen it I’ve posted the video in the video section

Paul – Congrats! You did it and that is what counts.
I’ve always tried to build my routines in short chunks of 2 – 3 minutes so I can quickly cut and change to suit my needs. Just an idea you may want to try.
Now to go watch you work!
Hey Paul, I was actually in Europe when Ventarama took place. It would have been fun to be there but I had other plans.
